In my project "…by measure, count and weight", photography is treated as a trans-medium between painting and the moving (video) image. My concern is the exploration and extension of the medium, especially with regard to the connection between painting and photography.

I transfer concrete picture compositions, artistic concepts and strategies – as, for instance, trompe l’oeil – from painting to photography and to the moving video image. All disruptions to a viewer’s perception are based on dealing with elementary facts of an image in the analogous medium of photography and the single loop of video image sequences. Thus, the picture spaces, which are created by means of deception, become individual world spaces, with no spatial reference outside the image.
